Firefox crashes - frequent causes
Especially outdated Software and Malware can force your Firefox Browser in the knee. These problems can be easily fix:
- Update: Is Firefox up to date, it can lead to various problems. Top right, click on the menu Button and select the question mark icon. Under "About Firefox" you can search for the latest Version.
- Plugins: Keep Plugins like Flash or Java is always up to date. The latest versions, you will find us in the CHIP-the download area.
- Malware: Have of any viruses, Trojans and co. in their System, they can cause Firefox crashes. You should therefore let your virus scanner run and in addition with a further Tool to check your System. Good is Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
- Safe mode: to Start Firefox in safe mode and check whether the Browser is still crashing. This is not the case, with high probability, Add-Ons or plug-ins to blame for the Problem.
- Add-Ons: Click on the top right of the menu Button and select the "Add-Ons". Go to the "extensions" and disable all the Add-Ons. - Start: Starts Firefox directly when you Start to hang and crash, there are several possible solutions.

- All this has not helped, re-install Firefox just new. Open first the control panel.
- Click under of the category "programs" on "uninstall a program".
- In the list, locate to Firefox, select the entry and click on the Button "Uninstall".
- Follow the instructions and delete all the files in the path "C:\Programme\Mozilla Firefox\" or "C:\Programme (x86)\Mozilla Firefox".
- Download then the latest Version of Firefox and install it.
- Alternatively, you can use the CHIP download portal other Browser such as Google Chrome, Safari or Opera a try.
Firefox re-install
