ISDN cable LAN-cable - in one direction the cables are compatible
- ISDN and LAN cables have an RJ-45 connector. From the design of the plugs seem to be identical and both of the cable can therefore be used theoretically for both purposes.
- In practice, however, different: On the ISDN cable, you can see only 4 colored poles, to the LAN cable 8.
- You can connect with a LAN cable allows you to easily and without problems in ISDN equipment. An ISDN cable is good, but not as a LAN connection. For this purpose, the 4 missing contacts are required.
- Note: LAN cables are better shielded than the ISDN-cable.
