Windows XP will not start - what you can do

Windows XP is regarded as a cult operating system and is still used by some users. What can you do when XP starts, we will explain in this guide.

Windows XP will not start: Troubleshooting and tips

In General, you can fix this Problem with some handles relatively quickly.
  1. Press the F8 key during the Boot process, until a selection list appears. Here you can select the item "safe mode" and wait until it is fully charged.
  2. Now you can uninstall for example, Software which you have installed before this error. May be the start of preparing a single Tool problems.
  3. You can then restart your PC as usual.
  4. This tip does not help, however, you will need the Windows XP CD. Insert it in the drive and restart the PC. You should not have, you first need to create a Boot-CD.
  5. Then press any key to boot from the CD. After the Setup program has been loaded completely, press the "R" key to start the repair function.
  6. Now, you can press the button "1" so that the console is opened. If necessary, enter your password.
  7. To repair the Boot sectors of your system, type the command "fixnbr" and confirm with Enter. This process still need to confirm with "J".
  8. Wait until the operation has been completed. Then enter the command "fixboot c:", so that the hard drive can be repaired. Confirm again with "Enter" and "J".
  9. With "Exit" to Exit the repair console and the PC is restarted. Should your computer still does not boot, please refer to the notes in our separate practice tip.
