Start in safe mode
The safe mode can start only during the boot process of your computer. Your PC is on, try shutting it down.
- After you have pressed the Power button on your computer, start the "DEL" button repeatedly. Depending on the BIOS Version, press alternatively, [F8].
- A menu will open. Here you can choose between the different modes. Use the arrow keys to navigate to "Safe mode".
- Confirm your selection with "Enter". The Computer boots XP in a stripped-down Version. It is only the most necessary drivers and settings are loaded.

Start in safe mode
The computer is booted up, is also at the bottom of your Windows XP desktop that they work in safe mode. Restart your PC, he as usual in the "normal" mode.
The three safe modes
Your selection you can make between the three modes.
- The "normal" safe mode.
- Safe mode with networking. Your Computer loads all the drivers for a network connection and access to the Internet is required.
- Safe mode with command prompt. Then the cmd.exe is started after the start-up.
