USB connection between Windows Phone and Computer check
A possible cause for this is that the phone is not detected, it can be a faulty USB cable or faulty USB port.
- Try another USB-cable, a cable break or loose contact to exclude.
- Clean the USB socket on the Windows Phone. This is best done with compressed air. But you can also remove gently with a toothpick, dust and dirt.
- You also test a different USB-socket on your Computer, or connect the device to another PC, to ensure that there is no Problem with the PC exists.

Often a simple restart helps to resolve problems with electronic devices.
- Disconnect your Windows Phone from the Computer and restart it.
- You can also start the PC and connect the phone again.
Windows Phone: update Software
Check if your Windows Phone to the latest Software is installed and run otherwise, an Update from.
- Tap in the application list, click "settings" and select "phone update".
- Check the Button "check for Updates" to see if new Software is available.
- If an Update is found, follow the instructions in the device to install it.
- Then try the connection again.

Assuming the USB cable, the phone and the USB socket on the PC are intact, you will see the Windows Phone in the device Manager. You should see the driver update, to fix the Problem.
- Open the device Manager. A tap for "device Manager" in the search function. In Windows 7, you can find these in the start menu, in Windows 8, you can type the search query directly on the home page. Click on the search result "device Manager".
- Your Windows Phone should be listed under "Portable devices". If it is not working properly, it can also be displayed under "Other devices" as "Unknown device" or "USB device".
- Click with the right mouse button on the device and select "Uninstall".
- Confirm that you want to remove the device driver.
- Then disconnect your Windows Phone from the PC and plug it in again. The latest drivers should automatically be installed.

Windows Phone is not detected: resetting the device
The last way to solve the connection problem, is to reset the Windows Phone back.
- First, save your data in a Backup.
- Set your phone back to factory condition.
- Try again to connect the phone to the PC.
