In the case of many new Windows 8 Laptops instead of the BIOS successor UEFI available. UEFI stands for "Unified Extensible Firmware Interface", and is in contrast to the old BIOS, much slimmer, and also for laymen easy to understand. Both UEFI as well as BIOS, is there a way this call:
- UEFI and BIOS: As you, only a fraction remains as part of a second to press the correct button, this process may take longer. Depending on the manufacturer, the F1 key, F2, F8, F10, Del, or Esc must be pressed. Turn your Computer off and on again, and as the first three buttons you press at the Start repeatedly. If this is not successful, shut the Computer down again and try it again.
- UEFI: move the mouse to the upper or lower right edge of the screen, so that the Charm Bar opens. At the bottom, click the "settings" and then select the "PC settings". Click on the menu item "General", scroll down and click under "Advanced Start" on the Button "restart Now" (see image).
