Update: the start sound in Windows 10 change
Behind the Scenes Windows 10 is adjusted again and again. Under newer versions of Windows, the following "step 1 does not work anymore". Instead, follow the instructions in this paragraph.
- Simultaneously press the keys [Windows] and [R], so that the command "Run" will open.
- Enter "regedit" and confirm with "OK". Now the registry Editor will start.
- You are here navigate to the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\BootAnimation
- Right-click, double-click the entry "disable startup sound" and change the value from "1" to "0".
- You close the window with "OK" and restart Windows 10. Then, the startup sound should sound, in step 2 you can change.

The various Sounds under the Windows 10, although easy to change the startup sound, however, is not listed. To do this, you need to turn off the startup sound only:
- Simultaneously press the keys [Windows] and [R], so that the command "Run" will open.

- Right-click the key "ExcludeFromCPL" with a double click.
- Change the value from 1 to 0 and close the window with "OK".
- Repeat the step for the folder "Windows logon". On request, you can also give the Sounds for "WindowsLogoff" and "Windows unlock" free.
