If you discover the Defaultuser100000 folder in Windows Explorer, you will probably be surprised at first. You can find out what this is all about and whether you can delete the folder here.

Defaultuser100000 folder – what its all about

On Windows, you can usually find Default, Public, and your own user folder in the Users folder.

  • After a major update it can happen that an additional folder "Defaultuser100000" is displayed here.
  • This is a temporary user profile that Windows creates during an update.
  • Normally, this user profile is deleted again after a restart following an update.
  • If this is not the case, you should check whether the folder contains personal files before deleting it.
  • To do this, start the Command Prompt and enter the command “whoami”.
  • If the system returns your correct user profile name, you can delete the folder.
  • If you are unsure, you can simply ignore the Defaultuser100000 folder.
