XAMPP download and install
Download XAMPP. For the XAMPP Installation, it is advantageous, to stop your Antivirus program temporarily.
- Then click on the executable .the.exe file.
- Now follow the installation instructions on the screen.
- Under "Select Components" select the components you want to install. By default, everything is selected here. With XAMPP, Web-developer will receive all the necessary Server and program languages in one Installation.
- At the end of the Installation, leave the "Control Panel" directly.

XAMPP incorrect Port settings setting
With the Port settings of Apache to start XAMPP frequently, error messages. These problems are displayed directly after the Start in the Control Panel. So it is often the case that, for example, the SSL Port 443, which is set in Apache, is already occupied. A solution is for example, Skype, which is often manned the Port 443, to finish easy. A permanent solution is not. You can change Skype Port, or you need to change the Apache Port settings with XAMPP. Do the following:
- Click on the XAMPP Control Panel and click on "Config" to the right of Apache.
- Choose the "Apache (httpd-ssl.conf)". If you want to change the Main Port, choose "Apache (httpd.conf)".
- The file opens in the Editor.
- You are now searching for the error port number 443 and replace on the found Set with a different port number. You choose to do this, best to use a high port number such as 12548. In order to make sure that this is not occupied by another process.
- Then save the Changes in the Editor.
- In the Control Panel, now click right above on "Config" and "Service and Port Settings".
- Change there under "Apache" also the port number.
- Click on "Save" and "Save".

- To start the individual Services in Apache, click on "Start" next to the Service.
- Click on the "Admin" to e.g. access Apache for the web server address.
- Your default Browser opens automatically and directs you to the respective address.
