Create a suitable template
You will first write a universal Text that includes, for example, the reason for and the duration of their absence. This Text will then be sent to anyone who writes you an E-Mail. To save the Written text as a useful template, please observe the following:
- To give you as the sender of your E-Mail address. The recipient line left blank. The subject title with "absence" or the Like.
- The message you must save it as a template. To do this, simply go to file -> Save as -> template.
Create a Filter in Thunderbird
In order for Thunderbird answered your E-Mails automatically, you must set the appropriate Filter:
- To do this, go to tools -> Filter and select "Filter for" your desired E-Mail Account.
- The Filter can be used to dub free. Obviously the title "absence note" or "absence"would be.
- Now select "no condition". This means that all of them will answer your E-Mails (including Spam Mails).
- In "Exporting an action", click "reply with template" and select the previously saved template. Then confirm with "Ok".
- Now you have set up the out of office message. Finally, verify whether in the Filter dialog box the Filter is active.
You should not have the possibility to leave your Computer running all the time, you can create a rule directly from your Provider, an absence note. You can find this function under "auto-reply" (Web.de), "Send and Receive" (Freenet), "Option - the absence" (GMX) or a "General absence memo" (Google Mail).
