Watermark with Photoshop to protect your images

Post your pictures to the Internet, you don't want that this be used illegally for the purposes of others. A watermark offers a good protection against the stealing of images, the photos still remain well recognizable. Adobe Photoshop has a private Digimarc plug-in for this, however, is subject to a charge. We will show you how you can protect your images with a few clicks free of charge.
  • First, open the desired image in Photoshop.
  • You create in the Layers window a new layer and fill it via "edit" -> "fill" in the menu bar with the Black.
  • You have to format a picture in landscape, turn now to the work surface by 90 degrees. The can be reached via the menu "image" -> "rotate canvas" -> "90 degrees CW". The image is in portrait format, you can skip this step.
  • Next, add the style "striped cone". You get there by selecting in the menu window "bar" and "styles". In the style Palette, you will find the Button "striped cone". Click on the style for the black level.
  • You turn to the window, you will see a small icon to the right in the black level, that effects are used. Click on the small arrow to the right of the level, open the applied layer effects. You can disable the "bevel and emboss", by clicking on the eye icon.
  • Click with the right mouse button on the 1. Level, the context menu appears. Select group here "In a new Smart object".
  • You have turned a few steps before the work surface, turn format, you are now back to the output.
  • Now it is time for the lettering. A paste with the text tool, and a lettering in white and place it to the desired location.
  • In the next step, change the blend mode for layer 1 in the Layers panel, from "Normal" to "reverse multiply" and reduce the opacity of the text layer.
  • Reduce the image in the layers menu to reduce "background level". Ready your watermark image that is protected. But caution: in order To Save, you choose "Save"! Otherwise, the origin will overwrite the file and you no longer have the image without the watermark!
