VLC Player for Linux Fedora install
- For the Installation of VLC, you need to have the RPM Fusion Repository. To do this, start the Terminal by pressing the key combination [CTRL] + [ALT] + [T].
- Enter the following command and confirm with the key [Enter]: $ su -c 'dnf install https://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-$(rpm-E %fedora).noarch.rpm https://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-$(rpm-E %fedora).noarch.rpm'
- You reply with "Yes", is added to the RPM Fusion Repository to Linux Fedora.
- The following command, you can now install the VLC Player: $ su -c 'dnf -y install vlc'
- Like any other program, you can find the VLC Player in the list of installed programs.
Linux Fedora: Codecs for VLC Player install
Linux Fedora is very sparse, in terms of Codecs. This need, however, to MP3s, DVDs and Blu play Ray. With the following commands, all of the important Codecs are installed:
- $ su -c 'dnf -y install gstreamer-plugins-bad gstreamer-plugins-ugly lame faad2'
- $ su -c 'dnf -y install ffmpeg ffmpeg-libs gstreamer-ffmpeg'
- $ su -c 'dnf -y install libaacs libbdplus'
- $ su -c 'rpm -ivh http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release.rpm'
- $ su -c 'dnf -y update && dnf -y install libdvdcss'
