Twitch with OBS: The bit rate
When Streaming, the bit rate for the image and sound quality of the Videos is crucial. If you want to stream on Twitch with OBS, you must have the following Bitrate settings note:
- 1080p: 3000-3500 kB/s
- 720p: 1800-2500 kB/s
- 480p: 900-1200 kB/s
- 360p: 600-800 kB/s
- 240p: Up to 500 kB/s
- For the sound, you should select as the encoder AAC and a bit rate between 64 and 128.

The following tips are important if you want to achieve a good image quality:
- Select "Video" as the scaling filter to "Bilinear".
- As the frame rate, you should choose 30 FPS.
- Select in the settings for "Stream" as the platform, "Twitch" and fill in your personal stream key, which you can use to your Twitch Dashboard, under the tab "Stream Key" find.
- With a click on "Streaming" to stream start on Twitch live.
