OBS shows Black Screen due to outdated drivers
Even if it sounds very simple: If your drivers are old or installed incorrectly, it can cause problems in OBS.
- If you want to record, for example, the image of a Webcam, you should ensure that it is properly connected and the drivers have been installed correctly. If this is the case, you know in the device Manager.
- Also, make sure that your graphics card driver is up to date.

Anti-Cheat Software is blocking OBS
Some games are protected with an Anti-Cheat Software, so OBS can't record them.
- Right click on your game recording and put a check in the "Anti-Cheat compatibility Hooking".
- Now you should be able to play your game with OBS error-free record.
OBS shows Black Screen: More tips
If the above tips have not yet led to success, you should bring the Following OBS up and Running again:
- You are trying to configure in the settings of the game the game so that it will run in frameless window mode. Add a new source, a Game capture, select capture "Specific window" and then select your game.
- Change in the OBS settings for your Renderer. If OBS does not work with DirectX properly, it works maybe with OpenGL or Vice versa.
