If the voice output of your Gimp-changes Version to English, you can set the language permanently. In this practical tip we show you how to do that.

Language in Gimp to change - so go ahead

First go to "control panel".
Then enter the top right in the search box of the control panel, "environment variables".
Then click on the displayed search entry "setting environment variables for this account edit".
Now, click on "New" and enter the name of the Variable "LANG".
In the value field, enter "de" and confirm with "OK".

You restart your PC. When you open Gimp, it should be permanently set to German. If you continue to have problems with the language issue should occur, please download the German Gimp Version from our Download page and install it.
