Gimp: smooth edges - so it goes

With the image editing Tool Gimp to smooth the edges in a photo. We explain in this practical tip of how to do this.

Gimp: the scissors, and the Option "smooth edges" activate

  1. Open the photo to be processed in the Gimp. To do this, go to "file" > "Open". From there you can select the photo and click again on "Open".
  2. In the Toolbox, select the scissors. If you do not see the tool box, click in the Gimp menu bar box to "Windows" > "tool".
  3. In the "tool settings" put a check mark in the Option "smooth edges". The tool settings should not be displayed, then click on "Windows" > "Dockable dialogs" > "tool settings".
  4. You avoid the smoothing of edges with the selected tool. Then click in the selection.
  5. In the menu bar, click then on "selection". On "Zoom in" to expand and flatten the selection to the specified Pixel.
  6. By "selection" > "Hide" will be made the selection on the specified Pixel boundaries blurred and blends so seamless in front of a new Background.
