So you can open the backup copy in Word
So Word creates independently backup copies, you must have the before in the Word options enabled. Detailed instructions to find you here.
- To open a backup copy, click on the Office button and select "Open" (Shortcut [Ctrl]+[O]).
- Locate the folder in which you saved the Original file. In the same folder the copy is located.
- After Opening the folder, select the folder under "file type" "All files" and search for the name of your Original file.
- The backup copy has the same name but with the file extension ".wbk". In the column "file type" is also "Microsoft Word backup document" specified.
- You want to work with the backup copy, you should save it after Opening it under a new file name. Word creates the new document and then also a backup copy.
