Word: document to use as a template - so it goes

If you often use the same Word documents in a slightly modified Form, you can save a template a lot of work. You use such a template, Word automatically creates a copy of the file, so that your template is not changed. For example, you can create templates and frequently used business forms.

So you create in Word templates

  • First, tap the template in a standard, blank Word document.
  • When you save the document when finished, select "save file as..." and click on "trusted templates".
  • Enter a file name such as "standard letter-form" and select as file type "Word template".
  • When you open the template later, it will appear as a working copy and can be saved as a new document.
