In this Praxisitipp we will show you what you can do when Recording a Word macro works.

Recorded Macro will not be saved

  • A possible Problem is that the recorded Macro will not be saved.
  • This can happen if you create a Macro for a specific document, the document but not as .docm file will be saved.
  • As a solution to the problem, you can either record in "Macro"window, set the location to "All documents", or earlier, the document, under "file" -> "Save as" as a .docm file will be saved. Record the Macro again - it should work now.

Macro with mouse movement does not work

  • MS Office Word, you can record mouse movement with the Macro.
  • As soon as you start recording, your Cursor is slightly transparent and you can click in the Text.
  • This is not a bug but Microsoft intends. In contrast to MS Office Excel, records the Word only keyboard input.
  • A real solution to the problem there, except that you program your macros in VBA by Hand. This requires, however, prior knowledge and is much more complicated and time-consuming.
