Outlook set up with T-Online account

The E-mail from your T-Online address you can retrieve with Outlook when you set up the program accordingly. In this tip, you can read step-by-step how to set up the T-Online account in Outlook 2010.

T-Online Outlook 2010 retrieve

  1. Open Outlook and click "file" and "add account".
  2. It's a wizard window, where you can choose the Option "server settings or additional server types manually configure" and twice on "Next" button appears.

Retrieval of E-mail messages via the Pop3 Protocol

  • Your Name: desired name of the sender
  • E-Mail address: your full e-Mail address
  • Incoming mail server: securepop.t-online.de
  • Outgoing mail server: securesmtp.t-online.de
  • User Name: Your E-Mail Address
  • Password: The Password Of Your Mail Account. Check the box "password", so you don't have to enter the password each Time.
  • Make sure that the login Option, "on using secure password authentication" is enabled.
After clicking on the "More settings" to open another window.
  • Select the tab "outgoing server" and activate the Option "The postau goose server (SMTP) requires authentication".
  • Go to the tab "Advanced" and check "this Server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)".
  • In the drop-down menu of the outgoing mail server, select "SSL".
  • The Port of the incoming mail server (POP3) should be 995 and the outgoing server (SMTP) 25 or 587. If not, tap the digits simply.

T-Online: E-Mails via IMAP

If you don't want to use the POP3 Protocol, but IMAP, follow the same scheme as above. Change the following only:
  • Incoming mail server: secureimap.t-online.de
  • Port incoming mail: 993
Note: this manual applies to Microsoft Outlook 2010. In other versions, the procedure may be different.
