Outlook: E-Mail to dictate - how to

You want to dictate an E-Mail in Outlook, instead of typing them on the keyboard, it is easily possible. You need to add only a small (free) Tool.

E-Mail dictation in Outlook: Dictate-extension-install

From the Version Outlook 13 and higher, you can use the Add-In Dictate. The extension is not only with Outlook compatible, but also works for other MS-Office products such as Word and PowerPoint.
  1. Download the Add-In in CHIP download free download.
  2. Open Outlook and navigate up to "file > options > Add-Ins".
  3. Now click the go button at the bottom for "Manage: COM Add-Ins", "..." and select in the new window, "Add...".
  4. Browse to the location of the downloaded Add-Ins, click it, and then select "OK".
  5. Make sure that a check mark in "Microsoft Dictate" is set and save the setting with "OK".

Voice commands for Outlook: you can dictate an E-Mail

The commands work so far only in English. However, the Text of the Mail, you can dictate in German and in over 60 other languages. Open a new E-Mail, press "record," and you can click on a recording device such as a Headset the Text freehand writing. Below you will find useful commands, to the E-Mail also hands-free to format:
  • "Delete": Delete the last recognized word
  • "Full stop" or "Period": point
  • "Question mark": a question mark
  • "Colon": Double-Point
  • "Coma": Comma
  • The "New line": a New paragraph
  • "Stop dictation": Stops recording
