Excel write protection: workbook with password protect

Enable the write protection in Excel, you can protect your workbook with a password. We will show you how to do it.

  1. Open the desired Excel file and click on the "file"tab.
  2. Go to the left in the menu bar to the "information".
  3. Click on the button "protect workbook" and select the Option "encrypt With password" (see image).
  4. Enter a password and confirm it. The file can then be opened only with the correct password and edited.
