Interpolation in Excel with a formula.
- The formula reads "=(end-start)/(ROW(end)-ROW(start)). "The end" and "beginning" refers to the last and first value in a set of values that you specify in Excel in a column.
- Then type in the function in the formula bar with the appropriate cells. In the next section, we will show you the process using an example.
Example of interpolation in Excel - how to
- Enter your values in a column. You see a couple of sample values in the image.
- Now click in a free cell and enter, for this example, the following formula in the top function bar: "=(C10-C6)/(ROW(C10) ROW(C6))" - of course without the quotation marks
- Now click either on the check mark next to the function bar, or press the enter key.
- The result is displayed directly.
