OS X Mavericks: how to import mailboxes in Mail

If you want to import under OS X Mavericks mailboxes in Mail, there is a special function. From a choice of Email programs to choose from your used App and start then the Import. In our practice tip, you will learn how to do it.

Mailboxes to import under OS X Mavericks in Mail

  1. Launch "Mail" in your Dock.
  2. In the system bar at the top next to the Apple Logo then select "file" and then "mailboxes import ...".
  3. Now, you can select an Email program, from the mailboxes to be imported (See picture).
  4. After your selection, follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. The e-mail App, the mailboxes are to be imported, must be active in order for the Import process to work.
  6. The Option "files in mbox Format" you should choose, if you want to import mailboxes from a UNIX or Windows Computer.
  7. After the successful Import, you can find the e-mails in Mail, under "Imported". If this folder does not appear automatically on the left side, press on "Show" next to the Option "receipt" at the top of the tab menu of Mail.
