To a m4a convert audio file to your Mac in an mp3, you will not need any additional Software, because iTunes has a corresponding Tool directly with the Board.
- Open iTunes and import the audio file you want to convert.
- Go to the iTunes menu, the "settings...".
- Click on the tab "General" on the "import settings".
- In the Drop-Down menu in the "Import using" and select your desired encoding format, in this case, MP3-encoder,. Under "settings" you can also specify the quality. A click on "OK" saves your selection.
- Then proceed into the library and select one or more songs. In the menu "file" (possibly "file") click "create a New working copy".
- In the Following you will see your previous selection from the import menu. Confirm this and wait until iTunes has completed the process.
- You can now delete the original m4a file.
