iMovie: Clips rotate - so it goes

In iMovie, you can easily turn the Clips, for example, if you filmed in portrait format. We will show you how to do this.

Clips into iMovie, rotate

  1. In iMovie, open the Video file, and add the Clip, then the Timeline of your project.
  2. You move the mouse over the lower left corner of the clip. Here is a blue button now appears with a Gear.
  3. Click on this button and select "Crop & Rotate"
  4. In your preview window on the right side of iMovie will now appear some buttons. Here you will find two arrows to rotate the Clip in both directions.
  5. Confirm the rotation in the connection with a click on "Finish". Then the buttons disappear again.
