IE5 and IE6: Skins and Themes to install
The Change of the Skins in the Internet Explorer is only supported for older versions of IE.
- Click on the Windows Icon at the lower left edge of the screen or go to the start menu and type "regedit" in the search window. You can open the found program.
- In the left display you can now navigate to the following location: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER"->"Software"->"Microsoft"->"Internet Explorer"->"Toolbar". After you click in the right display with the right mouse button into the free area.
- Select "New" and "string". You name the file "BackBitmapIE5" or "BackBitmapIE6" - depending on which IE Version you are using. In older versions of IE, the key "back bitmap" and is, in part, already exist.
- Click twice on the created characters and enter under "value" the path to your new Layout. A path example looks like: "C:\Users\Benutzer\Bilder\Bild.bmp". Sub-user should be in this example your user name.
- Also important is the Format of the Layout file. Here you need to save your Design as a Bitmap, all other image formats are not supported.
IE: Change the Skins
In IE11 there is no direct way
In the current Internet Explorer 11, there is no way to change only the Theme of the browser. If you like the Design of your Desktops to change, then change under current versions of Windows also have the Theme in Internet Explorer.
