Thunderbird: junk filtering to create
To create a personal Junk Filter only makes sense if Thunderbird fails to detect heavily. Otherwise, you can use the normal Thunderbird junk filter enable.
- Click above in the menu bar on "tools" and click on "Filter".
- Select the top left of the window, the Account to which you want to apply the Filter.
- Then click right on the "New" Button to create a custom Filter.
- Then select the destination folder you want to apply your junk filter. How to configure the Filter correctly, we will show you in the next paragraph.

- You give the Filter a name, and then edit the following two options. These are set out in the rule, however, is already good.
- Now you can create the first condition in the Filter. Select a category, such as "subject", "From" or "size (KB)" and a condition like "contains", "starts with" or "ends with". You can then enter the desired Parameter.
- Example: If you get Spam-Mails with the keyword "Viagra", select the "content" category that contains a condition "" and the Parameter "Viagra".
- On request, you can now create even more filters. Then select either "All conditions" or "at Least one of the conditions".
- In the last area, you can decide what to do with the Spam Mail. You can send the messages directly to the trash or a special folder to collect to make sure legitimate emails are not deleted the same.
- You close the window with the "OK" button will save the Filter and apply.
