You get a lot of Spam e-Mails, you can create in Thunderbird, your own junk filter, and configure. We will show you how to do it.

To create a personal Junk Filter only makes sense if Thunderbird fails to detect heavily. Otherwise, you can use the normal Thunderbird junk filter enable.
  1. Click above in the menu bar on "tools" and click on "Filter".
  2. Select the top left of the window, the Account to which you want to apply the Filter.
  3. Then click right on the "New" Button to create a custom Filter.
  4. Then select the destination folder you want to apply your junk filter. How to configure the Filter correctly, we will show you in the next paragraph.

  1. You give the Filter a name, and then edit the following two options. These are set out in the rule, however, is already good.
  2. Now you can create the first condition in the Filter. Select a category, such as "subject", "From" or "size (KB)" and a condition like "contains", "starts with" or "ends with". You can then enter the desired Parameter.
  3. Example: If you get Spam-Mails with the keyword "Viagra", select the "content" category that contains a condition "" and the Parameter "Viagra".
  4. On request, you can now create even more filters. Then select either "All conditions" or "at Least one of the conditions".
  5. In the last area, you can decide what to do with the Spam Mail. You can send the messages directly to the trash or a special folder to collect to make sure legitimate emails are not deleted the same.
  6. You close the window with the "OK" button will save the Filter and apply.
