The difference is that Wi-Fi-Repeater vs. Access Point
- Wi-Fi Repeater: a Repeater you can extend your Wi-Fi network if required. The radio Signal is collected and amplified again delivered, so that the range increases. Actually, can any modern Router as a Repeater work.
- Access Point: A Access Point is a Router not only similar, but also works in almost the same way. Unlike the Repeater, the Signal is received via wireless but via LAN and redirected. The Access Point transmits on a different channel than the Router.
