Ubuntu: External hard drive is detected not

- First, change the USB slot, in order to test whether the Slot is Defective. Make sure that you are using the correct USB Version-depending on drive and System 2.0 or 3.0.
- If you have a connection to the hard disk, but not access can, reformat the disk first, in proper Linux Format.
- If you are not sure whether the hard drive works, connect it to a Windows or Mac device. Eject the disk safely.
