  1. First, change the USB slot, in order to test whether the Slot is Defective. Make sure that you are using the correct USB Version-depending on drive and System 2.0 or 3.0.
  2. If you have a connection to the hard disk, but not access can, reformat the disk first, in proper Linux Format.
  3. If you are not sure whether the hard drive works, connect it to a Windows or Mac device. Eject the disk safely.
  4. Start the Linux Computer and let the disk connected.
