You want to log in on your Synology NAS, you can sometimes receive the message "you are not allowed to use this service". We will explain in this article what you can do to get again access to your Cloud.

Synology: you are not allowed to use this service - behind the message

The operating system DiskStation Manager (DSM), the Synology NAS allows normally not have access of a User over multiple IP addresses. You have used, for example, a VPN service or still connected to another device, you receive an error message and can no longer log in first.
  1. Delete in the first step your browser cache and start a new Login attempt.
  2. Try a different Browser to log in. If Firefox doesn't work, you can often still access via Chrome or Edge to get.
  3. If you have QuickConnect enabled, test whether this URL on your NAS dial-in can.
  4. Once you have regained access to the DiskStation Manager, navigate to the "system control" > "security".
  5. Put a check in the "browser compatibility by skipping IP checking will improve". To Save the setting, click "Apply".
  6. Should these tips not be able to restore access to the NAS operating system to receive, please contact Synology customer service.
