Synology DDNS setup - how to

You want to access from the Internet to your Synology NAS, you need to set up DDNS. We will show you in this practice tip, how the device works exactly.

DDNS under Synology set up so it works

  1. Start the NAS as usual and log in with your Account.
  2. Click on the "control panel" and start the Tool "quick connect".
  3. Enable enable the box next to "quick connect" and click on "register Now" if you have no Account yet.
  4. You should already have an Account, enter the check box for your user name and the password. In the field "quickconnect ID" you can assign a name for your NAS.
  5. You have no Account yet, click "register Now" and enter your E-Mail address and a password and your name. Confirm with "OK".
  6. After you have activated your Account, you must enter the data as described above. You can activate the service by clicking on "Apply".
  7. You can reach your NAS now "http://quickconnect.to/" followed by the ID you assigned. You have to forgive, for example, the ID chip, the address is "http://quickconnect.to/chip". There, you can then log in with your existing Account.
  8. Note: in order for the NAS can also go to the Internet, you need to start the Tool "EZ-Internet Wizard". First, select how the NAS is connected to the Internet and click on "Next". Then follow the instructions.
