Laptop fan runs constantly – what to do?
- First, start the Laptop and click on "restart" in the start menu, while holding down the [Shift] key pressed.
- You now have the option in the menu on the advanced boot options. Select "troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > UEFI firmware settings" > "New".
- In the next step, then select "Bios Setup". In some laptops you need to press during the boot process, a certain F-key to open the Bios. This is indicated by "Press F10 to enter Setup".
- You have reached the Bios, go to "System Configuration" and navigate to the entry "Fan always on". Press [Enter] and select "disabled".
- With [F10] the Changes are saved and the Laptop restarted again. Now the fan should be turned on only when needed, automatically.
