To turn Amazon Echo
Unlike most electronic devices, there is the Amazon Echo the Amazon Echo Dot no Power BUtton. Alexa is able to receive voice commands and to implement them.
- The microphone, the Amazon Echo can, however, be quite easy to switch off: Press the microphone button (this is a crossed-out microphone) is shown on the upper side of the device. The LEDs will begin to glow solid red. Thus, the microphone is disabled. Other functions such as music playback will still continue.
- If you want to disable Alexa completely, it is best to try the plug from the power outlet or the power cable from the device pull out. The Amazon Echo will be turned off this way more often, we recommend buying a power strip with a switch. Your settings will not be lost by the way, if the Amazon Echo will be disconnected from the mains.
- Tip: Alexa can only work if there is an active connection to the Internet. Thus, you can use the voice assistant to also disable by your Wi-Fi-power-off.
