You may have noticed the typical Aldi rituals before. What the discounter has come up with to guide you through the shelves and, above all, to tempt you to buy.

Aldi: assortment, arrangement & customer friendliness

In each Aldi your first route leads to the various bread and baked goods and sweets. That is the strategic guideline in every ALDI.

  • But thats not just the case with Aldi. In the large supermarkets, sales psychologists and strategists are at work who precisely evaluate your buying behavior. The assortment of the respective supermarket is arranged accordingly.
  • The positioning of the products also follows a certain strategy. You will always find the items you should buy at eye level. Peoples convenience is played with here.
  • For example, you will find the cheapest products on the deep shelves at floor level. The same is true where you have to lean your head far back to see the merchandise on the top rows of shelves.
  • In front of the tills there are usually items that are declared as a special offer and can also be used in your household. There you will also find wines and goods that are actually expensive, but in the low price segment, which should definitely be on sale.
  • The reason for this is that there are often longer queues in front of the cash desks and therefore long waiting times. Customers often consider whether they should serve this or that wine with dinner. If not - the red wine will only mature and get better in your cellar.
  • At the cash registers themselves you will always find items that you can use again and again in the household - batteries for example - and often these items are taken by the customers from the checkout.
  • Not only the price calculation plays a role at Aldi and Co. - but also the studied buying behavior.
  • Our tip: Make a shopping list and stick to your specifications - this way you can trick the price strategists.
