Delicious quark bunnies: fluffy & nutritious
The quark bunnies are easy to prepare and are perfect as pastries for Easter.
You will also need bunny cookie cutters for this recipe, but these should be larger than cookie cutters.
For the dough you need:
200 grams of low-fat quark, 80 grams of sugar, 50 milliliters of milk, 1 egg, 100 milliliters of vegetable oil, 400 grams of flour, 20 grams of baking powder, 1 pack of vanilla sugar and 1 pinch of salt.
After baking you also need 75 grams of butter, 80 grams of sugar and 1 pack of vanilla sugar.
- First preheat the oven to 180°C fan oven.
- Now mix all the ingredients for the dough except the flour, baking powder and salt until everything is well mixed together.
- Then add the salt, flour and baking powder and knead everything with a dough hook until the dough is smooth.
- Then continue kneading the dough with your hands on a floured surface.
- Now roll it out thinly and cut out your shapes. Then place the molds on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
- Then brush the bunnies with melted butter and bake them in the oven for about ten minutes. When they are golden brown, they are ready.
- Then brush the bunnies with butter again and then place them in the sugar and vanilla sugar.
- Afterwards you should let the rabbits cool down and eat them as soon as possible as they dry out quickly.
Simple yeast plait: The classic for Easter
The yeast plait is a very common pastry at Easter and can be eaten with many different spreads.
For a yeast plait you need:
250 milliliters of milk, 65 grams of sugar, 375 grams of flour, half a cube of yeast, 50 grams of butter, 1 egg and a pinch of salt.
You also need some milk to coat the braid and some granulated sugar to sprinkle on top.
- First warm the milk. Then put the flour in a large bowl and make a small well in the middle of the flour.
- Now crumble the yeast into the well and mix the yeast with a little sugar and 3 tablespoons of milk. Let this rise, covered, for about 15 minutes.
- Then knead the remaining milk with the egg, flour, sugar and salt for about five minutes. Then gradually add the butter and continue kneading the dough until it is even and smooth. Then let the dough rise for about an hour.
- Then divide the dough into three equal parts and let them rise again for ten minutes.Then flour your work surface and form each piece of dough into a roll of dough about 40 centimeters long.
- You can now braid your yeast braid from these rolls. This must then be placed on a baking tray lined with baking paper and left to rise for another 40 minutes.
- In the meantime, preheat the oven to 180°C. Coat the braid with a little flour and sprinkle it with granulated sugar before baking it in the oven for about a quarter of an hour until it is golden brown.
Sweet Easter cake pops: fashionable for a family celebration
Cake pops are very popular at the moment. This is mainly because they are so delicious and diverse: you can also bake and decorate sweet cake pops at Easter.
For the dough for about 20 cake pops you need:
125 grams of soft butter, 150 grams of flour, 50 milliliters of warm milk, 80 grams of sugar, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1 pack of vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt.
You will also need: 3 tablespoons of cream cheese, some grated lemon peel, 1 pack of vanilla sugar, 2 packs of white couverture, paint for coloring the chocolate, cake pop sticks , sugar writing and sprinkles.
- First you have to bake a cake for the base of the cake pops. To do this, preheat the oven to 180°C. To make the cake, you need to mix the butter, sugar and vanilla sugar until creamy.
- Then add the egg. Then mix the flour with the salt and baking powder and add this to the dough alternating with the milk and stir it as you go so that it becomes even and everything is mixed.
- Then put the dough in a cake tin and bake it for about half an hour.
- After baking, let the cake cool for about ten minutes before covering it with aluminum foil and letting it cool completely.
- Then crumble the cake into a bowl, add the grated lemon peel, vanilla sugar and cream cheese and knead everything well.
- Now form around 20 balls from this dough. Then put them in the fridge for a quarter of an hour.
- Now dip one end of the cake pop sticks into the liquid chocolate coating and then stick it into the dough ball. Once you have done this with all the balls, you should put them in the fridge again for about 20 minutes.
- To decorate the cake pops for Easter, for example, a chick and bunny motif is suitable. For the chicks you should color your couverture yellow, for the bunnies you can leave it white.
- Now dip the cake pops into the chocolate coating, let the chocolate drip off and then decorate them with your sugar writing and sprinkles so that they look like chicks and bunnies.
- Then store the cake pops in the fridge and eat them within a few days.
A traditional carrot cake: Not only rabbits like it

For the subsequent glaze and decoration you will also need 200 grams of powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons of orange juice and marzipan carrots .
- First, preheat the oven to 160°C and grease your springform pan with butter.
- Now peel the carrots and grate them finely. Then mix them with the salt, flour, baking powder, almonds and grated orange peel.
- Now separate the eggs and beat the egg whites until stiff. Mix the egg yolks with the sugar, oil and orange juice and then add the flour mixture to the mixture to stir everything together.
- Then fold the beaten egg white into the dough and mix everything together well.
- Then put the dough in the springform pan and let it bake in the oven for about 45-50 minutes.
- Before you start decorating, you should let the cake cool down.
- For the icing, mix the powdered sugar with the orange juice and pour the mixture over the cake. Also distribute the marzipan carrots and then decorate the cake as desired, for example with sprinkles.
