By default, Windows starts nuclei with all of the available processor. If you prefer to set how many cores you want Windows to start, we will show you in this practice tip, how to do it.

Windows start - number of cores set

If you suspect problems with some kernels, you can set for example how many cores you want Windows to start. So, go ahead:
  • Press the key combination [Windows] + [R]. There is a new Dialog-box opens.
  • Enter the command "msconfig" and confirm with [Enter].
  • Click on the tab "Start" and then on "Advanced options"
  • If you set the check in front of "processor number", you can select how many cores Windows is to be started. Set the desired quantity and finally click on "OK".
