Windows 7: set your default programs
In Windows 7, you can set up quickly and in a few steps, a standard program for your desired file type.
- First, search on your Computer for the file you want to open, and click with the right mouse button on the file. Now click in the list to "Open with...".
- Now you can specify a default program in the list. Under "recommended programs" and proposes you to Windows some ways, however, you can set each program installed on your Computer.
- Make sure that you have set the check in the "file type always use the selected program to open". When you confirm with "OK", open this file type from now on, with the fixed standard program.

- First, search on your Computer for the file you want to open. Click right on the file and select "Open with >" in the list and select "choose default program..." under the proposed programs.
- In the window that now opens, you can set your desired default program for the file. Under "More options" you will find a larger selection of programs and can make proposals for the standard program.
- Make sure that you have set to use the hook "This App is for all the *files". After clicking on a program, the selection is confirmed. From now on, this type of file always opens in the selected default program.
