For safety, you should regularly perform a Backup under Windows. You should encrypt in addition, so that Unauthorized persons have no access. You'll learn in this hands-on advice on how to do this exact procedure.

Windows: so the Backup works-encryption

  1. First make a Backup in your Version of Windows to.
  2. Download the free program Gpg4win and install it.
  3. Navigate the successful Installation to the location of your Backups.
  4. Here, you can make then right-click on the folder where the Backup is located.
  5. Alternatively, you can select the backed-up data, all before you continue.
  6. You then right click on the folder or the selected files and select "properties".
  7. Here you can select under "General" the Button "Advanced" and then click on "Extended attributes". Then activate the Option "encrypt contents to secure data" and confirm with "OK".
