Windows does not detect printer - it s may be'

What can you do if Windows detects your printer, we will show you in this guide.

Windows does not recognize the printer - you can do

  • First, make sure that the printer is properly connected to power and to your PC. If applicable, select a different USB Port works with other devices (like the mouse).
  • Install the appropriate driver for your device. These can be found in the driver Overview of CHIP Online and on the manufacturer's website. After the Installation, start your PC.
  • If your printer is still not detected, open the control panel and click "Hardware and Sound". Select "devices and printers" and check to see if your printer is displayed.
  • If your printer is displayed, but cannot be used, select by right-clicking the Troubleshooter for the device and follow the on-screen steps.
  • If the printer is still not detected, you must contact the customer service of the manufacturer.
