To remove the old drivers corpses of your System, you can show hidden devices in the device Manager. How this works is explained in this practical tip.

Show hidden devices in Windows display

For old devices that do not support Plug&Play, you had to install manually the drivers. If you want to get rid of these old drivers, you have to let the inactive drivers. It works like this:
  • Press WINDOWS + R and type "devmgmt.msc " in the box. Press Enter to confirm.
  • The device Manager will open. At the top, click the "view" Option and select view then "show hidden devices".
  • The inactive devices are grayed out to appear in the tree structure. You can now delete the driver in question.
