Tip 1: sleep mode in Windows 8 not working - Is it switched on?
First of all, you can control whether the sleep state is actually switched on.
- Open the command prompt as Administrator and type "powercfg -a" (without the quotation marks). In the edition of the text, attention should, first and foremost, the Status of the sleep.
- Alternatively, you can check whether the system drive is C:\ the file "hiberfil.sys" is. This is not available, you can assume that the idle state is disabled. Make sure you can see hidden files with your file Manager can see.

Tip 2: Disable hybrid sleep mode
Should be turned on on your System the hybrid standby mode, the phone does not hibernate. In this case, you must disable the hybrid sleep mode:
- Open the control panel. There, select the "power options".

- Run the Windows command prompt as Administrator from.
- Type in the command prompt "powercfg.exe -energy" (without the quotation marks). Thereafter, an analysis of the energy-saving features of Windows 8 starts. Until the Test is completed, you should use neither your mouse to your keyboard.
