In Windows 8, you can terminate Apps as usual by closing the cross. We will show you how the whole thing works well under Windows 8.

Apps in Windows 8 close

You have updated already from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, you can close the Apps as usual on the cross in the top right of the screen. In Windows 8, it goes like this:
  • If you switch from a App to the start screen, it stays open in the Background. Properly finish the tile programs via the keyboard with the well-known key combination [Alt] + [F4].
  • However, it is also faster by moving the mouse pointer up to the edge of the screen, until the icon turns into a Hand. Hold the App, then mouse click and pull the App down from the Screen.
  • This works the same way via a finger swipe on a touch screen. Illustrated is the Locking technology in this Microsoft video tutorial.
Not only Apps, but also Windows 8 completely finish, we will show you in the next tip.
