Windows 7: wireless configuration to USB Stick back up - so it goes

In Windows 7, you don't need to remember your wifi password. You can transfer your configuration conveniently on a USB Stick, if you move to a new PC. How to do this, we can tell you in this article.

Wi-Fi configuration on a USB Stick download

All you need is a USB Stick that is formatted with FAT-32. How to use the Stick to format correctly, we have you covered in another article summarized.
  1. First, you plug the USB Stick into a Port on your computer.
  2. Now you need to find in the control panel of your Wi-Fi networks. The easiest way is by clicking "manage Wireless networks" in your Windows-type search. Then click on the found result.
  3. Now you can see all Wi-Fi networks, with which they were connected. Click with the right mouse button on a Wi-Fi network that you want to export. An illustrated guide can also be found in the photo gallery.
  4. Select in the context menu now features. Now a window in which you can find in the lower half of the "This network profile to a USB flash drive copy" will open. Click on the item you want and then press on "Next".
  5. Now, is copied next to your network profile, a file named "setupsnk.exe" on the Stick. If you want to transfer the Wi-Fi profile on a different PC, you only need to run the device is plugged in and this file.
