Error 651 Windows 7 fix
Try to get a network cable into the Internet. Then, the error 651 is reported, this is usually just a faulty file. This is "raspppoe.sys" and must be replaced. If you do not succeed in this approach, test the solution in the second paragraph.
- First, you need to get the same file from a Computer on which Windows Vista is installed. You have to ask a friend or colleague.
- Press simultaneously the keys "Windows" and "E", so that the Explorer opens. Enter the top in the address line the following: "C:\Windows\System32\drivers".
- Here you will find further down the file, "raspppoe.sys". Cut this and put the file on your Desktop. Then, insert the same file from Windows Vista in the folder.
- After a reboot, the connection to the Internet should be possible. This is not the case, continue to read in the second paragraph. If the file does not replace, follow the instructions in the third paragraph.

- Press simultaneously the keys "Windows" and "R", so the command "Run" will open.
- Enter "ncpa.cpl" and click on the "OK"Button.
- It is a new window in which you select your LAN connection opens. You right-click on this and select "properties".
- Click on the Button "Configure" and select the "Advanced" tab.
- From the list, select the "Speed & Duplex" and set it to the right the value to "10 Mbit/s full duplex" (see image).
- Then click the "OK" Button and restart the Computer.

Windows does not allow to replace the file raspppoe.sys you have to adjust the access rights.
- Click with the right mouse button on the file and select "properties".
- Under the "security" tab click on the Button below "Advanced".
- Under the tab "owner" can edit the item, the owner to your Administrator account to change.
- Then close all Windows with "OK". The file can now be replaced.
