Windows 10: search for files - so it goes
- You do not know at all, where you have the file saved, let Windows 10 best the entire System browse. So Windows 10 the entire computer is searched, first click with the right mouse button on the start menu Icon. Then select the Option "Search", which is located in the lower area of the start menu. Finally, enter the name, or at least the beginning of the file name in the search box.
- Alternatively, you can call up the start menu, Windows Explorer, and limit the search to individual Windows partitions. For this, select in the Explorer on the left side under "This PC" in the appropriate drive. Then you enter in the search field in the upper-right area of the name of the missing file.
- If you suspect the file in a specific folder, you can restrict the search even further, if you access the same folder. Every Windows folder is also in the top-right area, there is a field in which the search term or at least the beginning letters of the desired file can be entered.
