The system configuration "msconfig" to manage
Many programs can be opened from the Windows registration database. This is used to allow the system configuration utility "msconfig" to manage:
- Click on the Windows start logo.
- Type in the search box "msconfig".
- You open the program.
- Go to the tab "system start".
- You take the hook at the programs out, you want to take it out of the startup folder; put the check in the programs that you want to copy to the startup menu.
- By clicking on "Apply", the Changes are saved.
- You start Windows for the Changes to become effective.

Windows folder options to change
The startup folder, in which you can enter the startup menu, is hidden by default. So you can make the folder display:
- Open "my computer" (Computer).
- Top left, click on "Organize" and then select "folder and search options".
- Go to the tab "view".
- Select "show Hidden files and folders", the second Option: "show hidden files, folders, and drives".
- Click on "Apply", then click "OK".

Programs from the startup menu, delete
In the startup folder, the shortcuts of the programs that are in startup menu. Programs from the startup folder, open the drive where your Windows System is installed. It is usually drive C. Open the following sequence of folders:
- "User" > "User Name" > "AppData"
- "Roaming" > "Microsoft" > "Windows"
- "Start Menu" > "Programs" > "Startup"
- Here are the program links. With a right click on a program shortcut you can delete this. As a result, the program is also removed from the startup menu.

Programs to the startup menu, add
To add a program to the startup menu, proceed as follows:
- You can open the startup folder as described in the previous section.
- Right-click anywhere in the folder (not a shortcut!).
- Select "New" - "Shortcut" - "Browse".
- Are you looking for the link to the program that you want to add. Select the link and then click "OK".
- Click on "Next", enter a name for the shortcut and click "Finish".
- Alternatively, you can Copy over Copy-Paste work: the desired link and paste it in the startup folder. However, be careful not to copy the Exe file of the program!

Windows startup additional programs to manage
In addition to the Windows-own Tools, there is still the possibility to manage the startup menu on Downloads from third parties. Such a program is, for example, the free "startup Manager".
