In this practice tip, you will learn how to setup your PS3 media server. So you can stream your Playstation to use images, Videos, and music on the game console.

Media server set up on your PS3

Prerequisite is first of all that your media server (eg your PC) and your PS3 are on the same network.
  1. Open on your PC the Windows Media Player (the best in the latest Version). Click on "Stream" in the top menu bar.
  2. Select "Streaming in home networks enable".
  3. It is the "media streaming options now open". Click on "allow All". Click allow the following on "All computers and media devices" and click again on "OK".
  4. Now, go to your PS3 menu. Check to see if under "settings"->"network settings" the connection with the media server is enabled.
  5. You go on your PS3 now, for example, in the area of "music". Click on "search for media servers", you should see your PC in the area. Otherwise click on the PC name.
