Windows 8 & 10: open command prompt
The following instructions work under Windows 8 and 10 the fastest. Alternatively, the instructions in the next paragraph for Windows 7 and Vista works.
- Click with the right mouse left-button at the bottom of the screen on the Windows icon.
- Alternatively, you can press on your keyboard at the same time the keys [Windows] and [X].
- Now select in the list the "command prompt" or "command prompt (Administrator)".
- Note: In most cases, you only need the command prompt, type without the addition of "Administrator".
Windows 7 & Vista: open command prompt
The following instructions work in a similar way also under 10 and Windows 8. A visible search bar, there is not here, however.
- Click the bottom left of the screen on the Windows icon to the start menu opens.
- Enter the command "cmd" in the search line. Then the "command prompt"will appear.
- Select the search result. By right clicking you can start the command prompt as Administrator.
