Windows and Mac: Windows by pressing a combination of close
Regardless of whether under Windows or Mac OS - close a window with the following key combinations, the program is terminated immediately. This can in some cases lead to loss of data. Save your work, therefore, best to first.
- Windows: since Windows XP, you can close the active window in the foreground with the key combination [Alt] + [F4]. You want to quit all of your open Windows, press and hold this key combination until all open applications are gone.
- Mac OS: users of the Apple system, close the frontmost window with the Shortcut [CMD] + [W]. You want to close all Windows of a program, press [Alt] + [CMD] + [W].

Should a window not closing, you can the process using the task Manager to exit.
